Emergency Conditions 2 Hour Delay

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am writing to inform you about a new protocol we will be implementing this academic year in cases of emergency conditions. Historically, the school district has typically resorted to a full-day closure when circumstances demanded it. However, this year, we will be adopting a two-hour delay in situations where we believe it is safe for both students and staff to attend school.

We understand that this adjustment may pose some challenges for parents and guardians, particularly in terms of childcare arrangements. Nevertheless, it is crucial to underscore our primary mission, which is to optimize instructional time with the overarching objective of enhancing student learning.

I want to reassure you that these decisions will be made promptly in the morning, allowing parents and guardians to receive timely notifications of school closures or delays.

It is important to emphasize that the two-hour delay should be interpreted quite literally. For instance, if your child’s regular bus pickup time was 7:15 am, it will now be adjusted to 9:15 am.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this new procedure, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s building principal.

Respectfully,

Dr. Stan Maziejka
